How to Get Started
It is crucial to help your students establish a solid foundation of their understanding of the world of scholarships to help them create strong scholarship applications. I encourage you to go over the following core beliefs with your students.
- There is no scholarship season because scholarship opportunities are available all year long.
- The competition surrounding scholarships becomes irrelevant when students focus on their unique qualities, talents, and achievements.
- Merit scholarship opportunities levels the playing field where all students have the chance to earn money for college.
- There are scholarship opportunities available to students starting as early as the 4th grade through college (including graduate school).
Scholarship Search and Application System
I have created a 6 step system that you can use with your students (any age or grade level) to help them find more scholarships in less time.
Next, I find that it’s easier to help students with the scholarship application process when they establish a goal of the number of scholarship applications they want to complete each semester or year as well as a scholarship award amount.
With goals in mind, your students are ready to begin the scholarship search process. I highly recommend that your students create a scholarship resume including information such as their academics, volunteer experience, special talents, and desired career.
