4 Summer Jobs Worth Your Time

When you were in high school, summer was a time to relax and have fun with friends. Now that you are in college, you still want to have fun, but you also need a job. When looking for a job, you can easily find a retail or fast food job, but if you want something a little more exciting, consider these jobs.

Camp Counselor

While not always the most lucrative job, camp counselor jobs make up for the slightly lower pay with a lot of other benefits. Most counselor jobs come with free room and board and free food while you are working, which can save you a ton of money. You also get to spend time outdoors and helping people have an awesome time. There are so many different types of camps that you can always find something that matches your interests, making this a really fun way to spend your summer.

Pest Control Sales

Pest Control field sales representatives can make a lot of money. In fact, some people who sell pest control can make enough money that they don’t have to work for the rest of the year. While this isn’t the case for everyone, if you apply yourself, you can make a decent amount of money. You can also live somewhere new during the summer and have some great experiences. This job may require long hours, and you may not be able to take a vacation, but the money you can make outweighs any of the problems.

Tour Guide

Summer is a great time to travel, and a lot of people take advantage of that. To handle this, a lot of tourist attractions will hire summer tour guides. Similar to camp counselors, this allows you to get some close hands-on experience with something that you love and share that love with others. You can apply for a job with a museum or an outdoor area, depending on your preferences. If you are studying history or another applicable subject, you might even be able to turn this into an internship.

Golf Caddie

If you don’t mind waking up early in the morning and you know a lot about golf, getting a job as a golf caddie can also be a great gig. This is a good paying job, but you can make bank on the tips you receive. If you manage to get a job at a tournament, you can plan to make even more. Not only does this help you make great money, but it can also give you a chance to learn from really good golfers and potentially network. Not everyone wants to talk to their caddie, but some people will take an interest in you, especially if you are helpful.

Don’t limit yourself to what you think you are supposed to do. Consider how much money you need to make, what you love to do, and go for something a little more out of the box that can turn a normal summer into an awesome one.
